The Mustang’s were led at the Catholic League Championships by senior captain Olivia Weymouth with her wins in both slalom and giant slalom. Olivia once more beat all competitors male or female. The slalom win was by a wide margin at 3.31 seconds over second place. The GS win was just as impressive with a win margin of 2.27 seconds. Olivia was undefeated this season in all her runs at Alpine Valley which included league races, Divisional, Regional and Catholic League Championships.

With many of the Mustang’s varsity teammates on a mission trip the freshman were called upon for the second time this week to help find scoring positions. But it was sophomores Ainslie Vanneste and Lauren Dee showing the future speed Marian will have going forward. Ainslie was top ten in both events. Ainslie finished with a 7th overall in both SL and GS. Lauren Dee in only her fourth start was 9th in SL and 12th in GS. Brynn Fullerton (freshman) getting a second start in two days paid the opportunity back by being the fourth scorer in slalom, taking 20th. Brynn was 21st in GS. Bleu Borromeo (freshman) was the fourth team scorer in 20th for GS. Bleu was 25th in SL. Junior Kenzi Lewis finished 22nd in GS and 29th in SL. Freshman Emily Day finished 25th in GS and 30th in SL. Cera Mtlotkowski (freshman) was 22nd in slalom and a DSQ in GS.

The Mustang’s next compete at the D2 State Championships at Boyne Mountain on Monday February 25th.
