For the first time in four seasns Marian was looking for a new top racer. Second year racer Lauren Dee (junior) was eyeing that spot. Last year Lauren earned her way off JV late in the season and immediately started to producing scoring efforts. In run one Lauren took a tight third place finish, the second run she scored a fourth for fourth overall. Senior Co-Captian Tessy Klein overcame a slower first run wtih a top ten second run to finish 11th overall. Sophomore Regan Condit had a breakout race scoring 11th and 12th in her runs for 12th overall. The Mustang’s last scoring athlete was sophomore Katelyn Triemstra with two consistent 19th place runs to score 18th overall.

Senior Co-Captian Lauren Dee was out with the flu giving sophomore Bleu Borromeo her first varsity start. Other notable finshes came from junior Kara Sigler who came back with a 15th place second run to get 19th overall. Senior Emily Anschuetz had a promising night started with a 10th in run one but a hike in run two dropped her to 40th. Senior Kenzi Lewis had a consistent night taking 50th.

The Mustang’s JV wasn’t shy about showing their speed on opening night with a podium sweep. Even with Bleu’s last minute move to varsity the girls showed they are a possible JV power. Brynn Fullerton, sophomore, took her first win. Freshman Allison Day in her frist race start was second and her sister sophomore Emily Day was two tenths back in 3rd. Rounding out the top ten was first year racer, sophomore Aliana Nofar in 10th.

The Mustang’s return to action in gaint slalom tonight for the second half of the duals meet.
