The Mustang’s take a lead into each GS race Wednesday night against Sacred Heart and Walled Lake Central.

Marian junior Lauren Dee had strong perfomanaces to once more lead the Mustang’s into the GS races with points leads. Lauren backed up her her first run 2nd place with a 3rd place run to finsih 3rd overall. Her first varstity overall podium finish after just missing last week with a fourth in SL. Lauren has had three individual top three runs and a 4th in SL through the first two races. Senior Captain Tessy Klein contiues to improve her slalom finishes with an 11th overall. Look for Tessy to have even stronger results in GS. Senior Emily Anschuetz added to her many scoring efforts from the past with an 18th. Sophomore Regan Condit has scored in all three varsity starts this season with 20th overall.

Katelyn Triemstra, sophomore, finished 22nd o/a and is a threat in her preferred GS racing on Wednesday. Kara Sigler, junior, had a strong performance with 23rd overall. Captain Lauren Scolari, senior, took 30th and first time starter sophomore Brynn Fullerton did well with a 42nd overall.

Marain’s JV has shown exceptional form and power to start the season. Following last weeks sweep of slalom and GS, the Mustang’s added the JV Open Championship in a points sweep Monday night. They followed that success up with a poduim sweep and SL win Tuesday.

Last week it was sophomore Brynn Fullerton taking two wins, this week in the JV Open it was Brynn taking a third win with the GS race, Emily Day, sophomore, took the SL win at the Open and again Tuesday night. Allison Day, freshman, took second in all three races this week. The consistent skiing culminated in Allison becoming the JV Open Overall Champion.

The Mustang’s get back to work on Wednesday evening in GS .
