The Mustangs had excellent snow conditions to finish the weeks competitions in giant slalom. Night two saw Marian trailing Lakeland and leading Hartland after day ones SL event. In run one the young Marian team showed improved speed led by Junior Olivia Weymouth. Olivia beat all male and female racers for the third run in a row this week. Unfortunately Olivia would be a second run DNS. Senior captain Madison Rosiek picked up the leading roll in run two with a 10th, improving on her first run 15th. Madison finished 12th overall on the night. First year racer, freshman Laura Emerson, continues her climb up the standings with an exceptional 18th overall, once more setting a new personal best. Scorer number three was junior Emily Anschuetz who also had an improved second run placing her 26th overall. The final scorer was Ainsle Vanneste, freshman, with run finishes of 40th and 27th to finish 32nd overall. In 53rd with consistent racing was sophomore Audrey Sawmiller. Sophomore Lauren Scolari was close behind in 55th. Freshman Kenzie Lewis had her best skiing in run one of the season but was an unfortunate DSQ in run two.
Next week will begin the last week of the regular season on Tuesday for the Mustangs. They will be competing in slalom.
