Marian suffered its first real adversity at the CHSL Championships. Slalom has been the strong suit for the Mustangs all year but on this night it saw three of the top athletes hike and another get a DNF. Breaking through the tough start was sophomore Regan Condit leading the team with a 7th overall, her best finish as a Mustang. Senior captian Tessy Klein prevailed also by taking 9th overall.
The Mustangs took a large points gap into the GS races. Here is where they showed their determination by skiing their best GS as a team on the season by a wide margin. Putting four girls in the top ten overall was nearly enough to move them into second place. Once more Tessy Klein skied well get her best finish of the season with 4th overall. Regan Condit also skied strongly with an 8th overall. Sophomore Katelyn Triemstra scored her first top ten of her career taking 9th. Junior Lauren Dee was Marains final scorer in 10th overall.
The Mustang’s return to action on Tuesday night for a division double header make up race. Marian is looking to improve on their 6-1 division record.
